    Get to Know CCG

Founded in 2005, CCG is the vision of two native Washingtonians - Quiton Cooper and Reginald Herndon.  That vision has become reality in the form of a new energetic, progressive-minded construction management firm ready to serve our clients with the sophistication and savvy of a veteran giant.

Collectively, our principles have over a quarter-century of commercial building experience on a diverse range of projects.  Along the way, they have developed a strong industry network with groups of local building professionals, specialty contractors, architects and engineers who have become the sources and resources  for CCG's business operations.  As our core business is to build buildings; we continually strive to build relationships with Washington area business and community leaders dedicated to advancing the development & growth of our local building industry for the next generation.

   Management Team

Reginald B. Herndon - Co-Founder & General Manager

Reginald received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from The George Washington University and earned a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from the Catholic University of America.  He began his career as an intern with the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission's Construction Department focusing on wastewater treatment plan construction; before moving into building / civil construction as an intern with Sigal Construction Corporation and later with A.J. Contracting Company.

After his tenure with A.J. Contracting, Reginald was hired by Smoot Construction Company of Washington, D.C., one of the largest minority-owned construction firms in the District.  Over the course of his career with Smoot, he rose from Project Engineer to Project Manager while working on a diverse range of project assignments.  Reginald's resume also boasts lead engineering and field supervisory roles during the construction of two landmark projects located right here in the Nation's Capital - The Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center and the recently completed Washington, D.C. Convention Center.  While at Smoot, Reginald also became a certified U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Quality Control Manager, responsible for overseeing the QA/QC program for the new Air Traffic Control Tower at Dulles International Airport.  Prior to leaving Smoot to form CCG, the total contracted construction value of his project experience was over an astounding $1.2 billion.

A fourth generation Washingtonian, Reginald takes pride in staying active in the local community.  He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Booker T. Washington Public Charter School for the Technical Arts in Washington, D.C.; volunteers with First Baptist Church Home Improvement Ministry which provides no-cost repairs and renovations to the homes of needy community members; and recently became involved with the African American Real Estate Professionals network group.

Reginald's responsibilities at CCG include business development, financial management, procurement, preconstruction and estimating activities.

Quiton Cooper - Co-Founder & Operations Manager

Quiton graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.  He started his professional career as an intern for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and then as a Junior Engineer for Chilton Engineering, Inc. of Cherry Hill, New Jersey - practicing civil and highway design, urban planning, bridge/roadway construction and landscape surveying.

Shortly thereafter, Quiton was hired by Turner Construction Company, the largest commercial general contractor in the United States, and assigned to their Philadelphia business unit.  For the next eight years, he gained invaluable construction experience with Turner working on an array of projects ranging in value from $3M to $160M.  During this time, Quiton held numerous job positions including Estimator Engineer, Area Superintendent and Project Engineer.  He acquired extensive experience on larger projects with intense mechanical, electrical and building automation systems design, and was later promoted to MEP Coordinator.  In this capacity, he was responsible for managing the engineering and field supervision for several Boiler room and Central Utility Plant facility installations/upgrades for some of Turner's major pharmaceutical and healthcare industry clients.

Capitalizing on opportunities to travel, Quiton garnered experience working in primary construction markets up and down the northeast region from Boston to Virginia, before returning to his home town of Washington, D.C. to form CCG with Reginald.  Ecstatic to be back home, Quiton looks forward to having active participation with local community and business groups to assist in furthering educational & economic opportunities for District youths.

Quiton's responsibilities at CCG include oversight of daily operations, safety & risk management, marketing, preconstruction and estimating activities.
