Reginald B. Herndon -
Co-Founder & General Manager
Reginald
received his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from
The George Washington University and earned a Master's
Degree in Civil Engineering from the Catholic University
of America. He began his career as an intern with
the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission's
Construction Department focusing on wastewater treatment
plan construction; before moving into building / civil
construction as an intern with Sigal Construction
Corporation and later with A.J. Contracting Company.
After his tenure with A.J.
Contracting, Reginald was hired by Smoot Construction
Company of Washington, D.C., one of the largest
minority-owned construction firms in the District.
Over the course of his career with Smoot, he rose from
Project Engineer to Project Manager while working on a
diverse range of project assignments. Reginald's
resume also boasts lead engineering and field
supervisory roles during the construction of two
landmark projects located right here in the Nation's
Capital - The Ronald Reagan Building & International
Trade Center and the recently completed Washington, D.C.
Convention Center. While at Smoot, Reginald also
became a certified U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Quality
Control Manager, responsible for overseeing the QA/QC
program for the new Air Traffic Control Tower at Dulles
International Airport. Prior to leaving Smoot to
form CCG, the total contracted construction value of his
project experience was over an astounding $1.2 billion.
A fourth generation
Washingtonian, Reginald takes pride in staying active in
the local community. He serves as a member of the
Board of Trustees for the Booker T. Washington Public
Charter School for the Technical Arts in Washington,
D.C.; volunteers with First Baptist Church Home
Improvement Ministry which provides no-cost repairs and
renovations to the homes of needy community members; and
recently became involved with the African American Real
Estate Professionals network group.
Reginald's responsibilities
at CCG include business development, financial
management, procurement, preconstruction and estimating
activities.
Quiton Cooper -
Co-Founder & Operations Manager
Quiton graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA
with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. He
started his professional career as an intern for the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and then as a
Junior Engineer for Chilton Engineering, Inc. of Cherry
Hill, New Jersey - practicing civil and highway design,
urban planning, bridge/roadway construction and
landscape surveying.
Shortly thereafter, Quiton
was hired by Turner Construction Company, the largest
commercial general contractor in the United States, and
assigned to their Philadelphia business unit. For
the next eight years, he gained invaluable construction
experience with Turner working on an array of projects
ranging in value from $3M to $160M. During this
time, Quiton held numerous job positions including
Estimator Engineer, Area Superintendent and Project
Engineer. He acquired extensive experience on
larger projects with intense mechanical, electrical and
building automation systems design, and was later
promoted to MEP Coordinator. In this capacity, he
was responsible for managing the engineering and field
supervision for several Boiler room and Central Utility
Plant facility installations/upgrades for some of
Turner's major pharmaceutical and healthcare industry
clients.
Capitalizing on
opportunities to travel, Quiton garnered experience
working in primary construction markets up and down the
northeast region from Boston to Virginia, before returning to
his home town of Washington, D.C. to form CCG with
Reginald. Ecstatic to be back home, Quiton looks
forward to having active participation with local
community and business groups to assist in furthering
educational & economic opportunities for District
youths.
Quiton's responsibilities
at CCG include oversight of daily operations, safety &
risk management, marketing, preconstruction and
estimating activities.
